I am the founder and owner of Aloft Healing Studios. I am a therapist, social worker, mom, energy healer, and music lover. I make space for your voice and power to guide you towards finding healing, balance, purpose, and peace.
I love to connect through laughter and play. In my office, you will find me barefoot most days with my incense and candles lit. My style is laid back and casual and it is my goal to make sure each client who walks through my door feels comfortable, safe, and seen.
I see clients in person at my office in Kennesaw as well as online.
My work currently focuses on EMDR therapy and incorporates somatic work and mindfulness to honor and connect with our whole bodies. I am particularly passionate about helping others make sense of childhood wounds and trauma and helping clients find their own spiritual connections.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I offer metaphysical and Reiki sessions. My energy work incorporates hands on healing, and I also work with clients to establish their own intuitive spiritual practices through tarot, crystals, and connecting with their own energetic field.
I am committed to making sure Aloft Healing Studios is a place where everyone is welcomed and affirmed. We are trauma-informed, anti-racist, and affirming of all gender and sexual identities. We believe there is no one path towards health and wholeness and are committed to providing both counseling and alternative forms of healing.
I’m so glad you found Aloft Healing Studios and are beginning to take steps towards healing! Read on if you’d like to know more about my background, education, and training.
Education and Training
It took me a long time to get to the title of “therapist” and figure out that counseling was my true passion. I loved singing growing up and without much thought to what that might look like as a career, I attended Vanderbilt University where I got my Bachelor of Music degree in 2005. It was during these years that I first began to notice I was really good at attuning to others. I hung up my hat as an aspiring singer and turned my attention towards social work, obtaining my Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 2007.
During my masters program, I completed internships at a mental health day program, an international women’s organization in Moshi, Tanzania, and a non-profit focused on grassroots organizing and lobbying efforts.
Since graduate school, I have completed a certificate in trauma studies and specialized training in EMDR, becoming a certified EMDR provider in 2023.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means that I’m able to offer independent therapeutic and diagnostic services in the state of Georgia. As a social worker, I follow a high standard of ethical principles, including a commitment to seeking justice, ensuring the right to self-determination, and respecting the worth and dignity of all people.
I also continue to do my own healing work! I have my own therapist so that I can ensure I show up for each of my clients and separate my own baggage and story from my work of holding space for others. I’ve been on my own spiritual path, growing and expanding my energy healing, which has included three levels of Reiki attunements and receiving Munay-Ki shamanic rites.
Career History
Prior to founding Aloft Healing Studios in 2022, I spent many years in the child welfare sector. I worked for Cobb County Department of Family and Children Services as a case manager, supervisor, and administrator overseeing Child Protective Services.
After about 7 years in the child welfare sector, I took a break from full-time work as I transitioned into being a mom and spent several years working in an inpatient crisis stabilization hospital. Here, I led group therapy, family sessions, and completed assessments. After another break after the birth of my second son, I began working for Life Empowerment Services in 2020, offering individual and family therapy and a range of child welfare assessments, eventually serving as the lead assessor for the agency.
The through line for all my career experience is witnessing trauma in many forms. I’ve worked with wonderful mentors and inspiring clients who led me on the path to founding my own agency.
