What Yoga Services Are Provided?

We offer group and individual trauma-informed yoga classes designed to create a safe, supportive environment for healing and self-awareness. Group classes provide a sense of community and shared experience, while separate sessions offer personalized guidance tailored to each person's unique needs and healing journey. Trauma-informed yoga emphasizes choice, empowerment, and mindfulness, focusing on gentle movement, breathwork, and body awareness. The approach is sensitive to the effects of trauma, avoiding activating language or touch, and encouraging participants to reconnect with their bodies at their own pace.

What is Trauma-Informed Yoga?

Trauma-informed yoga is a compassionate and empowering approach to yoga that recognizes the impact of trauma on the body and mind. It prioritizes physical and emotional safety, offering practices that help individuals reconnect with their bodies in a gentle, supportive way. Unlike traditional yoga classes, trauma-informed yoga avoids triggering language, physical adjustments, and rigid instructions. Instead, it emphasizes choice, body awareness, and self-regulation, allowing participants to move at their own pace and make decisions that feel right for them. The goal is to create a space where healing, resilience, and a sense of control can begin to grow.

Do I Need to Know/Be Good At/Practice Yoga to Join a Class?

No, these trauma-informed yoga classes are beginner-friendly and designed to be accessible to individuals of all experience levels, including those who have never practiced yoga before. Movements are gentle and adaptable, with plenty of options and modifications offered to meet each person's comfort and ability. There is no expectation to perform or "get it right"—instead, the focus is on tuning into your own body, moving mindfully, and honoring your personal experience. Whether in a group or one-on-one setting, the classes foster a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where everyone is supported in their healing journey.

Trauma-Informed Yoga Class

The 60-minute trauma-informed yoga class is designed to offer a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for individuals who are navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, or chronic stress. The class emphasizes choice, agency, and connection to the body through gentle movement, breath awareness, and grounding practices.

Unlike traditional yoga classes, this offering eschews physical assists and employs invitation-based language to help students reconnect with their inner sense of safety and presence. Movement will be slow and accessible, with modifications offered for all bodies and abilities. You are always encouraged to listen to your body and make choices that feel right for you.

The class will begin with a short guided grounding or centering practice, followed by a slow-paced sequence of gentle yoga postures, and will end with a restful relaxation or meditation. All levels are welcome—no prior yoga experience is necessary.

Length: 60 minutes What to bring: Yoga mat (props like blocks or a blanket optional) What to expect:

  • A calm, quiet environment
  • No hands-on adjustments
  • Emphasis on safety, choice, and self-awareness

Restorative Yoga

The 60-minute Restorative Yoga class is a deeply relaxing and meditative experience designed to calm the nervous system and promote rest and renewal. In this class, we use props such as blankets, bolsters, and blocks to fully support the body in restful poses held for extended periods of time—typically 5 to 10 minutes—allowing for deep relaxation and release.

Unlike more active yoga styles or the fascia-releasing focus of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga emphasizes stillness, gentle breath awareness, and conscious rest. This class is ideal for anyone seeking stress relief, recovering from illness or injury, experiencing fatigue or burnout, or simply wanting to slow down and reconnect with themselves.

The session begins with a brief grounding practice and breath awareness, followed by a series of supported poses that encourage the body and mind to unwind. Gentle music, dim lighting, and a quiet atmosphere help create a tranquil space for inner reflection and healing.

Length: 75 minutes What to bring: Yoga mat, and if available—props like a bolster, blanket, and two blocks (some props may be provided) What to expect:

  • Slow-paced, floor-based practice
  • Poses held for longer durations with full support
  • A quiet, meditative environment
  • Guided breath and relaxation techniques
