Herbal Consults

What is an Herbal Consultation?

Our herbal consultations are personalized sessions in which a trained herbalist assesses your physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors to develop a customized wellness plan using herbs. During the consultation, the herbalist gathers information about your health history, current concerns, diet, and daily habits, and may ask about stress levels, sleep, and digestion. Based on this comprehensive overview, we will recommend specific herbs, nutritional, and lifestyle adjustments to support your overall well-being. The session includes information about the suggested herbs and how to use them safely and effectively. Our initial herbal consultations last approximately one hour, with 45-minute follow-ups.

What Are Herbs?

An herb is a plant or plant part, such as leaves, flowers, seeds, roots, or bark, that is valued for its medicinal, culinary, or aromatic properties. In herbal medicine, herbs support the body’s natural healing processes and promote overall wellness. They may be prepared as teas, tinctures, capsules, powders, or topical applications. Herbs can have various effects, such as calming the nervous system, aiding digestion, supporting immune function, or reducing inflammation. Each herb contains natural compounds that interact with the body in unique ways, and they are often chosen based on individual needs and health goals.

What is Herbalism?

Herbalism is the practice of using plants and their extracts for healing, wellness, and prevention of illness. Rooted in traditional knowledge and supported by modern science, herbalism involves understanding the properties of herbs and how they interact with the body to support physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Herbalists use a holistic approach, considering the whole person—mind, body, and lifestyle—when recommending herbs. Herbalism can include making remedies such as teas, tinctures, salves, and powders, and is often used as a complementary practice alongside conventional medicine.
